Listed below are some over-the -counter medications that can come in handy. It can be purchased at a drugstore/ pharmacy without a prescription.

Fever and Pain

Acetaminophen

This is sold under the name Tylenol. The concentration for Infants’ Tylenol syrup and Children’s Tylenol syrup are the same.

 Ibuprofen

This can be used from 6 months old and sold under the name Motrin and Advil.

The concentration for the infants’ syrup and children’s syrup are different so please be careful.

Ointment

Moisturizer

Apply Vaseline or Aquaphor to dry areas.

 

 

 

Steroids

Weak steroid creams can be purchased without a prescription.

Apply twice a day for bug bites, rashes, or mild atopic dermatitis. It is sold under many names, but hydrocortisone 1% will be listed on the back of the box.

 

 

 

Antibiotics

This is sold under the name Neosporin. Apply to cuts or scratches.
